Local Hot Spots

I've lived in Ottawa about 6 years now, so as much as I've had the chance to find some great joints, I'm also still always finding out about new and exciting local spots. If you're looking to hit up the town, here are some local spots you might want to check out*:

In the heart of the market is Kinki Sushi, an Asian fusion restaurant that has managed to make quite a name for itself. Of particular interest is their naked sushi nights, where models are used as platters for the evening's meal.

Does anyone not know Barefax? Yeah, didn't think so. Still wanted to give them a shout out here. And check it out: it's on the same block as Kinki Sushi. Could make for a very full night.

It's hard to argue with a bar that has a pun as a name. They have an acoustic open mic every Wednesday and an electric open jam every Thursday.

This club is adjacent to the Adult Fun Superstore, making it just off St Laurent and pretty easy to find. Their site advertises "It’s an experience, a night out with benefits, an experience to be remembered. Cold nights always get hotter at The Nuden. With a fantastic floor show and a full menu, couples are always welcome." Keep an eye out for their theme nights, such as the men of Cuffs N' Collars and their 18th birthday bash.

The observant reader will notice that Sweet 300 is located in the same building as The Playmate. I'm hesitant to feature either of these places as I haven't heard much about them. That being said, a gentleman's club and an adult cinema / peep show definitely qualifies as interesting local spots.

Store Update

If you've stopped by recently, you may have noticed there's something a little... different about our store.

We're all a tad obsessed with Halloween. Can ya tell?

Here's some of the latest and greatest things happening at our little shop of horrors and whores (haha):

• We've gone sticker crazy
  There's signs all about the store to highlight staff picks and Halloween treats. We hope this helps make our store more accessible and our staff more familiar.
• We've got new BDSM gear
  We've got fish hook gags and combination crop / feather tickler tools. We have shock therapy kits and basic whips. We have several kinds of eye masks and hand cuffs. Best of all, we have staff willing to talk to you about our selection so you can find the toy best suited to your interests.
• We've got a broad range of DVDs available
  I can't emphasize enough how impressive our selection has been lately. I keep getting distracted reading covers when I'm supposed to be sorting stock. We have adult diaper titles, a slew of Barefoot and Pregnant videos, and a bunch of sexy women of colour pornstars (specifically, we have a lot of stuff with Pinky). 
• We've added sub-sections to our DVD sales area
  Got a particular kink? Do you prefer anal videos that are also amateur? You're in luck: our DVD sales area has been further divided and labeled so you can find exactly what you want all the easier. To make it even easier, ask a staff member to point you in the right direction for the section you're looking for. No, really -- we all get pretty bored and / or lonely during our long shifts. It's nice to feel useful and talk to someone other than ourselves once in a while.
